Misleading Recall Flyer 8-11-26

An unidentified person or group has taken it upon themselves to place flyers in Sun Lakes member's mail boxes earlier today. This is an admirable effort to keep members informed. But, unfortunately, it contains misinformation.

The recall cost is estimated, by the contracted electoral company, to be between $8,000 and $10,000. NOT $15,000 to $20,000, as stated in the flyer.

One can only assume that this was an attempt to distract or undermine the recall of Gary Burkel even though in excess of 5% of the community signed a legal petition to do so.

Consider the following, even if an anticipated donation to cover the cost is not made to Sun Lakes by Sun Lakers for Accountability, the cost to each household would amount to a one-time cost of $3.00!

How does this compare with the $700,000 excess loss we incurred during 2025 as a result of Burkel’ s reckless procurement process that resulted in the Morrison/CCL agreement?

Members of the previous PAC analyzed the agreement and issued a report to the Board on March 25, 2025 which identified thirty-two flaws warranting immediate attention. Morrison/CCL took over on April 1, 2025. The Board, under Day and Burkel, remained silent until the massive excess losses became a reality.  This excess loss cost each household approximately $212.00. Who is complaining about that?
